Ok, so Stewart is a character and not a character, let's just say he's in between reality and fiction.
ok so the deal with stew is that his original name was chai nagi, a name given by his mother who enjoyed giving her children not so typical names, he had to change his name because a Yokai with red teeth had stollen his name and is currently nesting inside him.
the Yokai is a demon of body horror and distortion, it takes great pleasure in ruining its victims mind and body, the scar on Stewart's head is from when his family and a monk had sealed the demon inside, there was no way of getting rid of the Yokai and no way of getting rid of it without harming anyone in the process.
his missing wrist I said a result of the Yokai's attempt to permanently take control of Stewart, so he chopped it off.
since the possession his eye sight became terrible and he's been unable to change physically no matter what age he is, and he can't die since the demon also takes pleasure in making a person suffer by making them see anyone they meet or love just die through out time.
